BOOKS BY MAIL

A library service for rural residents of Colchester and East Hants delivered to you in the mail.

How does it work?

You can register for Books By Mail if you live 10 km or farther from one of our branch libraries. If you would like to take advantage of this service, complete the online form or contact any of our branches.

After you've registered, make your selections using our online catalogue (make sure to choose "Books By Mail" as your pick up library). You may also contact Books By Mail staff and we will choose books for you. Just tell us what you'd like.

Once the books are received by the Books By Mail department we will mail the books to you. Return these books using the self-addressed label included with your books, and we will mail you more. Simple as that!

What kind of books are available?

Any books available through our online catalogue are eligible for Books By Mail. Unfortunately, DVD's, videos, CD's and audiobooks are NOT eligible for our Books By Mail service.

How many books may I ask for?

As many as you like!  Or, as many as your mailbox will hold.

How long may I keep these books?

Three weeks. Renewals are possible if no one is waiting for the material. Just e-mail, call 895-4183 or use our toll free number (within Atlantic Canada) 1.888.632.9088.

What do I do about the size of my mailbox?

If you have a small site box, or a small mailbox, LET US KNOW, and we will send books one or two at a time.

Am I limited to only Books By Mail?

NO. As a County resident, you may use this service along with the five branch libraries - ElmsdaleMount Uniacke, Stewiacke, Tatamagouche, and / or Truro, as well as at the Satellite Sites. Your library card is valid at all our service points.
