Web Awareness Workshops
Today, there is a concern about children's internet use. While the internet has many benefits for education and communication, it can also pose some challenges. The best way to address these concerns is to teach kids to be safe, wise, and responsible every time they log on. We are offering the Media Awareness Network's Web Awareness Workshops to groups and individuals who work with, or are concerned about, children and young people.

Library Skills Instruction
Would you like to learn the basic skills you
need to find library materials? We offer tours and classes for adults on
how to use the on-line catalogue and magazine database, and World Wide

Gates Learning Centre
for Electronic Information
The purpose of the lab is to provide free
computer classes and Internet training for non-profit groups, and
regional library staff in our area. For more information phone (902)

Pre-registration for all classes is recommended. Last minute bookings will
be taken if space is available.

Learning Centre for Electronic Information
Community Access Program (CAP)
The CAP site offers a number of training programs:
- Time for Seniors: Provides basic computer and internet training for those 50+
- Children's Programs with various themes are available in the summer
- An instructor is available to go to local community groups to explain use and the opportunities available at the CAP site.
- Basic instruction is available for all ages at the CAP site, subject to demand

Uniacke, Stewiacke, and Truro Branches. Please book
