SUMMARY:Art Exhibit Opening: Acadian Surfaces: Nancy Chiasson
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening of the exhibition Acadian Surfaces by Nancy Chiasson! Nancy Chiasson will open the event with an Artist Talk from 10:30-11:30am. She will discuss the inspiration\, research\, and process used in creating the Acadian Surfaces project. A reception will follow just outside the library in the foyer of the Lloyd E. Matheson Centre from 11:30am-12:30pm. Refreshments will be provided. This event is free\, no registration is required. \nAbout the exhibition: Acadian Surfaces is a ceramic mural created by Nancy Chiasson through a year-long research and creative process. The work explores the natural and cultural heritage of the Shubenacadie Waterway\, focusing on the history of Acadian settlers and their interaction with the landscape of Mi’kma’ki. Acadian Surfaces will be on display at the Colchester-East Hants Public Library – Elmsdale Branch from June 25-August 25\, 2022.
