Gloria Ann Wesley is an African-Nova Scotian poet, author and educator. Join us as Wesley reads from her most recent novel, Shovels Not Rifles, the story of Will Coleman, a young, Nova Scotian, Black man who enlists in the historical No. 2 Construction Battalion in 1916. He soon learns the harsh realities of war and what it means to be as much a victim as the enemy.
