Due to the Canada Post Labour Disruption, you will be unable to place holds on materials outside your regional library. Borrow by Mail services are also suspended. We apologize for the inconvenience and will resume services once the strike is resolved.

Outreach Services

If you are unable to visit the library on your own, we will bring the Library to you via the mail as well as programs for those in continuing care. It’s part of our commitment to serve every member of every one of our communities.

Borrow by Mail

Borrow by Mail is a free service available for all Library members living within the Municipality of Colchester or East Hants.

We can mail a variety of different items from our collection:

  • Regular and large print books
  • Paperbacks
  • Magazines
  • Books and music on CDs
  • DVDs

Register for this service with the form below. Once you are registered for Borrow by Mail, you can:

  • Request items on our website.
  • You can search our catalogue and select Borrow by Mail as your pick-up location.
  • Call or email us. We can help you choose items based on your interest.

How It Works

Items will be mailed to you. We’ll include a postage-paid return mailing label, which you should use to return your items to us by mail.

You will need to pay the replacement fee for any lost or damaged items.

You can still borrow from any of our locations, but any items borrowed in person need to be returned in person to one of our libraries or community return locations. You cannot use the postage-paid envelopes to return items borrowed in person.

To register for Borrow by Mail service, call 902-896-4194 or email bbmce@cehpubliclibrary.ca.
