CHILDREN’S SUMMER READING CLUB – Underwater Wonder
TD Summer Reading Club is the Colchester-East Hants Public Library’s free, annual summer program for kids ages 3 to 12! Designed to encourage children to keep reading and learning all summer long, the Summer Reading Club lets kids explore their interests while maintaining skills they learned during the school year. This year’s program runs from June 8th to August 15th and our theme is “Underwater Wonder.”
HOW IT WORKS
REGISTER AT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY! Visit your library to sign up and get your logbook, then choose your reading goal. Will you try to read 10, 20, or 30 minutes a day this summer?
READ! Read anything you like – books from the library or books from home, audiobooks, graphic novels, cereal boxes, and more! Being read to counts, too!
Every time you read 10, 20, or 30 minutes (depending on your goal), mark off a shape. Get a prize ballot when you’re halfway to your summer reading goal, then a prize ballot AND an ice cream coupon when you reach your goal!
GET ACTIVE AND PLAY! Complete activities on your own or with family and friends. Get a prize ballot when you do 5 activities, then a prize ballot AND a sticker sheet when you finish 10 activities!
BONUS! Reach your reading goal and complete 10 activities to receive one extra prize ballot.
CHECK IN WITH YOUR LIBRARY! Stop by to tell us what you’re reading, enter ballots and collect prizes, and get more reading recommendations. Be sure to check out the fun programs at your library this summer!
